Mateja Petje Philosophy Approach Holistic Coaching International
My philosophy and approach to counseling & coaching is based on my own personal spiritual journey. It is a combination of Western and Eastern practices and techniques. Specifically, to heal myself I have studied several spiritual teachings and practices. These include Zen Buddhism, Primordial Sound by Deepak Chopra, and finally the Art of Living Happiness Program.
Mateja Petje Philosophy Approach Meditation
Meditation has been a key part of my life for over 20 years. I can honestly say that it saved my life. As a result I perform focused breathing exercises on a daily basis. Ideally you should implement a meditation practice for yourself. However you also want to eat healthy, exercise and get sufficient sleep as well. Finally, what is also paramount here is to have nurturing relationships. These are cornerstones to good health and well-being.
Through the years I have learned from many teachers and spiritual masters. My favorite teachers include Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Debbie Ford, Thich Nhat Hanh, Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, Esther and Jerry Hicks, Marianne Williamson, Donna Eden, Napoleon Hill, Steven Covey, and many others.
I believe in the power of love and forgiveness.
Yes I believe that we all continue growing until we die.
Also it’s true that I believe that there is not necessarily one Soulmate. Depending on our life stage and vibrations as a result we attract people who are on the same vibration level as us. When we outgrow them, it is time to move on.
Definitely I believe in honesty. Lies have a way of catching up with you.
Without question I believe in healing naturally without medication in every situation if possible
We will always experience challenges in life but is up to us how we handle them. It is all about our attitude.
I believe in a Higher Power but not necessarily God as a white man
Finally, I believe that we all have our unique calling and gifts to share with others. There is NOBODY like you. So go ahead, speak your voice and share your gifts with the world!
Mateja Petje Philosophy Approach Background
During the last couple of years I also studied how nutritional and supplements affect our health, including mental health. I gained invaluable insights from a functional medicine approach, as postulated by Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Marshall Greenblatt (Integrative Medicine Psychiatrist) and Kelly Brogan.
As Dr. Brogan says, “We’ve been told a story about depression – that you are born with a chemical imbalance that requires lifelong medication. Get ready for some myth-busting around the benefits, risks, and the truth about what depression is.”
Medications have side effects and some of them can be pretty severe. What I find is that most of my clients have negative programming and limiting beliefs. This brings about symptoms of anxiety and depression. When they gain awareness and insight into themselves as a result great things begin to happen. If they address these beliefs and start changing and replacing them for example we see massive changes take place.
If we couple this change along with eating healthy, exercising, getting enough sleep, receiving support, as well as engaging in nurturing relationships, soon there is no need for medication anymore. Even though I advise all my clients to discontinue medication under supervision of their doctor or a psychiatrist. If there is also trauma involved, we need to address that as well so consequently in my practice I use a variety of top techniques such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Clinical Hypnosis.
